A Foundation For the Future
The Founders’ Society honors alumni, parents, and friends who have provided legacy gifts to North Yarmouth Academy through an estate plan or other financial arrangement.
There are many planned gifts that will not affect your existing financial resources, but will have a significant impact on NYA.
A bequest is a gift provision in your will or revocable living trust. All assets, including cash, securities, real estate, and tangible personal property, may be transferred to NYA at the end of your life.
A charitable gift annuity provides fixed payments to you for life in exchange for your gift of cash or securities to NYA. Gift annuities are easy to set up and the payments you receive are backed by the general resources of NYA for as long as you live.
A charitable remainder unitrust can help you maintain or increase your income while making a significant gift to NYA. If your unitrust grows, your payments will grow too, providing a hedge against inflation. A unitrust provides more flexibility than other life income plans.
A pooled income fund gift is an easy way to receive income for life and make a generous gift to North Yarmouth Academy. A pooled income fund works like a mutual fund. Your gift is combined with the gifts of all other donors to the fund and invested together. You receive payments equal to your share of the fund’s net income.
If you are 72 or older, you may be interested in a way to lower the income and taxes from your IRA withdrawals, while possibly satisfying your required minimum distribution (RMD) for the year. An IRA charitable rollover is a way you can help NYA this year.
Consider naming North Yarmouth Academy as a beneficiary of your plan.
Name NYA as an irrevocable beneficiary of your Donor Advised Fund and determine the amount and purposes of your gift to NYA on an annual basis.
Remembering North Yarmouth Academy in your will is a wonderful way for you to make a lasting gift to the talented students, dedicated faculty, and academic programs, including the arts, athletics, and student life.
